Such a lovely neighborhood staple!! They have everryyything here, and if they don't they will let you know when they will! I was able to get everything I needed for my first (of many) housewarming projects... I had a vision for a pearlescent wall with a glitter paint stencil, and they were super helpful and knowledgeable to talk me through that I needed! They even ordered more of the glitter paint in the color that I needed, when it wasn't there the first time I went. Look how pretty this wall came out! Of course, the photo makes it hard to capture the lovely pearlescent sheen as well as the sparkle of the glitter... But I'm sure you can still tell it's gorgeous. I used Benjamin Moore Pearlescent White Metallic Glaze and the Rust-oleum Glitter Paint in Iridescent Clear. The stencil is from Etsy. If you're gonna try the glitter paint, my advice is to read the directions and get the right nap of roller... Save yourself some headache.

These guys have been a staple in the neighborhood forever. While they have or can get pretty much anything you’d want at a hardware store, their real value is their breadth of knowledge. They can help you troubleshoot almost any problem you could have in your apartment. And when you come in looking for an item, they often ask what you need it for, before presenting a better way of doing what you want done. Friendly, knowledgeable guys. I hope they own the building and don’t have to pay rent so the yuppie transplants and greedy landlords don’t price them out. The day their shop is gone Ridgewood will be a poorer place. I just went there to get a microwave lightbulb, I’ve been there before for plants and soil in the springtime and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s also really cool inside just cause of the way everything is stacked, like a treasure trove of hardware. 10/10

They were incredibly kind and professional and were able to help me in a pinch. I highly suggest working with these guys. After calling many places in the neighborhood, they were like the most caring and knowledgeable.

These guys are some of the most decent, helpful, hardworking and fair guys in that I’ve ever bought anything from. They really will take the time to help you solve your problem, even when theyre not trying to make a sale. A rare find!

Walking into this place feels almost cinematic. It’s like what a wizard or witch from Harry Potter would imagine a muggle hardware store to be like. It’s packed to the brim with everything you could possibly need. It’s all there, and once you start looking logically, you’ll find exactly what you’re after. But honestly, the real reason to come here is the owners. They are unbelievably helpful. I’ve been coming here for years for tools, parts, liquids, tricky bug problems, and every time they take the time to really listen and help you find the right solution. They’re incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about getting it right. And it’s not just with me they treat everyone who walks in with the same respect and attention, never pretentious or visibly frustrated. Blessed to have these guys in the neighborhood
